River Boards got their name from the term River Tables which gets its name from the use of blue epoxy resin to fill in cracks, knot holes or other openings in a piece of wood giving the impression of water. I adopted the idea and incorporated it into Pioneer Boards. The epoxy is lovely and hard and heat resistant but will scratch if used as a cutting surface. So I recommend you avoid cutting directly on the epoxy surface or simply use these boards for serving or displaying your food.
